The contact form
When you send the inquiry form, we receive what you typed: your name, your email address, your message, and the optional business and software fields. It's used for exactly one thing: answering your inquiry. Sending the form doesn't subscribe you to anything, and your details are never sold or shared with anyone else.
So we know which pages and campaigns lead to inquiries, the form also records the page where your visit began, the site that referred you, and any campaign labels included in an ad or search link.
How long we keep it: form submissions are kept for up to 24 months from the date you send them, so the thread of a conversation isn't lost, then deleted. If you'd like yours deleted sooner, email notes@growthcolumn.com and it's done.
The worksheet download
When you ask for a worksheet to be emailed to you, we receive the address you typed and use it to send that file. Unless you also tick the separate opt-in box, that one delivery email is the only thing the address is ever used for.
If you do tick the box, you're asking for our occasional practical emails, and we record what you agreed to and when so we can honor exactly that. Any one of those emails can be stopped by replying with the word unsubscribe; the stop applies to the address itself, permanently, across everything we send. Nothing is sold or shared either way.
How long we keep it: download records are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted; suppression records (the list of addresses that said stop) are the one thing kept longer, because honoring a stop requires remembering it. For deletion, email notes@growthcolumn.com and it's done.
If you book a call
Scheduling runs on Google Calendar's booking pages. When you book, Google processes the details you enter (your name, email, and the time you pick) to create the appointment, under Google's own privacy policy. We see the booking in our calendar and use it for nothing except holding the call. If you'd rather not use the booking page, reply to any email from us and we'll set a time by hand.
Visit measurement
The site keeps its own first-party counts of which pages are viewed and which links are clicked, along with the search or campaign terms that brought a visit here. This lives on our own server. The site also uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read; Google processes those measurements under its own privacy policy. There are no advertising trackers on this site, and no data is passed to ad networks.
How long we keep it: visit records are kept for up to 14 months, then deleted. They are stored against a one-way scrambled form of your network address, not your name; the form and the visit records are not joined together.
Cookies
The contact form sets one temporary cookie whose only job is protecting the form against forged submissions. It expires when you close your browser. There are no marketing or advertising cookies.
